LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER OF THE YEAR -
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: Louisa County Crime Solvers recognizes that law enforcement can be rewarding and challenging, as well as frustrating and dangerous, so providing appropriate recognition to deserving officers is very important. As law enforcement supporters, we must reinforce to the public that the vast majority of the officers who serve us are dedicated professionals working to make our lives better and our communities safer.
To provide such recognition, the Louisa County Crime Solvers sponsors the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year award. This award symbolizes the highest level of achievement among our law enforcement officers in Louisa County.
All officers who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in carrying out their duties will be considered for this honor. Extraordinary valor, crime prevention, community policing, investigative work, juvenile programs and other police endeavors are eligible.
NOMINATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY NOVEMBER 30, 2017
ELIGIBILITY: Nominees must be any sworn, full time Law Enforcement Officer below the rank of Chief Executive Officer. Nominations may be made for exceptional achievement in any police endeavor, either on duty or off duty, including extraordinary valor, crime prevention, juvenile programs, training programs, or other acts or effort
which have had a positive impact on the citizens of Louisa County. Nominations should be made for endeavors that occur between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017.
ENDORSEMENT: Each nominee’s agency head or local superior officer must sign an endorsement confirming the officer is in good standing in Section IV of the nomination.
SUBMISSION: Deadline for submission is November 30, 2017. Nominations will be accepted from any member of the community or Law Enforcement agency. A nomination form should be submitted for each nominee, giving the Officer’s name, rank, and department, as well as a statement supporting why that individual’s act or performance deserves particular recognition. NOTIFICATION: Each nominee will be invited to attend the annual meeting on
January 16, 2018, where the award will be presented to the recipient.
AWARDS PRESENTATION: The award will be presented to the officer selected at the annual meeting of the Louisa County Crime Solvers on January 16, 2018.
Special Note: At the discretion of the Louisa County Crime Solvers Law Enforcement of the Year committee, an award may or may not be granted.
